Moldovan President Maia Sandu has discussed Gagauzia autonomy with her Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, IPN reports.

"With President Erdogan we discussed Gagauzia - a bridge between our countries. Together we want to preserve the gagauz language, which UNESCO has included among endangered languages, as well as to protect the gagauz culture, an important part of Moldova's identity," Maia Sandu wrote on the X network.

Maia Sandu is in Baku, where the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) is taking place. There the President of Moldova met with dignitaries from various countries, including the leader of Kazakhstan and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
