The September 2, 2020 decree by which President Igor Dodon appointed Vladislav Clima as the president of the Chisinau Appeals Court for a four-year term was revoked by President Maia Sandu, IPN reports.
The Superior Council of Magistracy violated the legal procedures and allowed an inadmissible conflict of interests when it proposed naming Clima to this post, Maia Sandu posted on Faccebook. She noted the Council should review this decision and should make sure that its next decisions on appointment fully meet the legal provisions, while the candidates meet the integrity criteria.
The annulment decree can be challenged within 30 days, with a preliminary application addressed to the President of the Republic of Moldova.
