Prime Minister elect Maia Sandu, who heads the Party “Action and Solidarity”, said the messages of support for the Government invested on June 8 by the new parliamentary majority should be heard and understood, especially by the representatives of the Democrats’ government when these resort to protests. Deputy Prime Minister elect Andrei Năstase, president of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, said public functionaries will start to be dismissed on June 10, IPN reports.

Asked if she will go to discuss with representatives of the Democratic Party and if she will give particular guarantees to this, Maia Sandu said the opposition was invited to discussions, but the guarantees are out of the question. “We provide no guarantee. We came to build the rule of law, to ensure an independent justice system and the guarantees are out of the question in such conditions,” the politician stated in a talk show on Pro TV channel.

She voiced hope that this duality of the power will end soon and things will become clearer the next few days.

For his part, Andrei Năstase said the recognition by the international partners of the Government led by Maia Sandu is natural and brings the political dynamics of the last few days to normality. The recognition of the Government by the EU offers confidence and determination to the people to hurry up the transfer of power by their attitude. “This recognition brings to an end the road that each of us covered after February 24 until now,” he stated, noting firings among functionaries will start today.

On June 8, after the PSRM and the Bloc ACUM formed a parliamentary majority, the new Government headed by Maia Sandu was invested. Andrei Năstase was named minister of the interior. At the same time, the Constitutional Court rule the investiture of the Government was unconstitutional and passed a judgment saying the Parliament elected on February 24 should be dissolved.
