All magistrates and prosecutors who have illegally enriched themselves must firstly leave the system and, secondly, they must explain where they have acquired their assets. The statement was made by Prime Minister Maia Sandu on the "Piatnița s Anatoliem Golea" show, on RTR Moldova.

"This is what we propose and not just us, it has been done in other countries in the region where existed such problems related to corruption in the judiciary and the Prosecutor's Office," said the head of the cabinet.

Maia Sandu says that the evaluation of the judges’ activity will be carried out by examining the judgments rendered by the magistrates. "Let’s look at the judgments pronounced when the results of the elections in the municipality of Chisinau were annulled, at the rulings that were rendered in the case of Ilan Șor, releasing him for a few years and allowing him to steal money from us, but also in the case of other people regarded as thieves by everyone, except for the judges," said the chief of the executive. According to her, all these magistrates must leave the system and subsequently the Prosecutor's Office must deal with them.

Regarding the first 100 days of Government activity, Maia Sandu acknowledges that there are goals that have not yet been achieved. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers has referred to the fact that the increase of salaries and pensions has not yet been accomplished because the state of the budget still does not allow for that. At the same time, Maia Sandu hopes that this will be possible starting next year.

The prime minister says she would have liked those who stole to have been already held accountable for their actions and to have obtained better results with regard to large-scale corruption schemes, but also to have succeeded in ridding the state institutions more effectively of corrupt and opportunistic people.
