The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) has been ordered to work out a more efficient mechanism of collaboration and training of journalists so that they provide a more ample and transparent reflection to the implementation of the EU-Moldova Action Plan. According to a press release from the Government, quoted by Info-Prim Neo, the issue has been discussed within the frameworks of this year’s first session of the National Commission for European Integration. Prime-Minister Vasile Tarlev stated that 2007 is very important for Moldova in the sense of realising a quality leap in the relations with the European Union and the integral implementation of the EU-Moldova Action Plan. Tarlev solicited the institutions involved in the negotiation with the EU on the visa regime and readmission facilitation agreements, offer full assistance to MAEIE in order to ensure the promotion of Moldova’s interests. The PM emphasised upon the necessity of increasing the efficiency of the control over the migration flows via the creation of the Automatised Informational Integrated System within the established terms. Referring to strengthening energy security – one of the priority directions of the EU-Moldova Action Plan implementation, the head of the Executive requested from the specialised institutions prompt actions for working out the Energy Strategy, immediately after the EU publicises its comments on the respective document. Among the basic objectives for the current year, the PM specified the hastening of opening in Chisinau the Single Centre for issuing European Union visas for Moldovan citizens, obtainment of the Asymmetric Trade Agreement and the European Union Association Agreement. A summary of the actions implemented by the Government during 2006 towards European Integration, especially towards the implementation of the EU-Moldova Action Plan has been presented during the session.
