The president of the European Action Movement (MAE) Veaceslav Untila called on all the parties and independent candidates that do not have real chances of entering the legislative body to withdraw and support the MAE in the November 28 parliamentary elections, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the party. “We want to build a common project that will pull Moldova out of the political crisis and hinder the PCRM from returning to power. The MAE, in the present political situation, is the key for unlocking the political crisis in Moldova that has lasted for a year and a half,” the MAE leader said. “We would not ask that parties and independent candidates to join us if we would not have given a similar example last July, when we actively campaigned for the Democratic forces, but withdrew for the sake of the national interest as the Communists were to be removed from power. Now the MAE is the only party that can give the Democratic forces those votes that they need in Parliament to elect the head of state so as to pave the way for four years of political stability,” Veaceslav Untila said. Veaceslav Untila made the call after the presentation of the first opinion poll in the current election campaign. “According to that poll, the PLDM, PDM and PL would obtain together 53% of the vote. If the MAE entered Parliament, a new wave of political crises would be avoided,” it is said in the communiqué.
