The 31,000 pensioners who are entitled to the one-time payment of 2,300 lei can pick up their money at post offices starting with November 5. Also from this day, lump sum payments of 3,000 lei are offered to families with children with severe disabilities, IPN reports.

The one-time payment of 2,300 lei was set for people who at the time of retirement had a minimum contribution period of 40 years and who currently have a pension lower than 3,300 lei. The other one-off payment, in the amount of 3,000 lei, is allocated to almost 5,500 families in which children with severe disabilities are raised.

The allowances are granted automatically and proactively, which means that the beneficiaries will not have to go to the National House of Social Insurance (CNAS) to submit applications and supporting documents.

In order to benefit from the one-time payment, pensioners in the listed categories will present their identity card at the post office. In the case of families with children with severe disabilities, the parent/legal representative of the child, who receives the social allowance set and paid by the CNAS, will present the identity card at the post office. Furthermore, all pensioners and beneficiary families have already received notifications from the Government, by which they were informed about the payment collection method and where they can go.

"We are glad to announce that from November 5, over 31,000 pensioners and absolutely all families with children with severe disabilities will receive a one-time payment that is offered to support the citizens who worked and contributed to a bright future of this country and also the families who show empathy, courage and a lot of strength day by day, taking care of children with severe disabilities," said Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu.
