The agricultural subsidies for 2023 were fully disbursed only in 2025, said Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Ludmila Catlabuga. For this year, the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development is set at 1.7 billion lei, of which 50 million lei was earmarked for taking restructuring measures in agriculture, IPN reports.
According to the minister, the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA) so far disbursed 733 million lei in the form of subsidies, which represents 43% of the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development this year.
"The subsidies for 2023, which were outstanding due to the limitation of the subsidy fund, were fully disbursed. The AIPA makes maximum effort to speed up the process of examining the requests," Ludmila Catlabuga stated in the program "The Shadow Cabinet" on Jurnal TV.
The disbursement of funds will continue throughout the year, with priority being given to processing the files regarding the interest on loans so that farmers can start the agricultural season without delays.
"We have a very large number of applications for loans. Theoretically, each farmer should already receive an amount of money in their account in order to start the spring works," said the minister.
Ludmila Catlabuga also said that the institution she leads remains committed to supporting farmers and promoting a constructive dialogue for the sustainable development of the agricultural sector in the Republic of Moldova.
