The Central Election Commission decided that a local referendum will be held in Dancu village of Hâncești district simultaneously with the snap parliamentary elections of July 11. The plebiscite was initiated by a group of citizens for removing the mayor from office IPN reports.
In its June 10 meeting, the Commission approved the calendar program of activities for organizing and holding the local referendum and constituted the Dancu village electoral constituency.
In accordance with the electoral legislation, the authorities of Dancu village and the parties that are represented in Parliament will propose candidates for member of the electoral council of the Dancu village electoral constituency. The mayor’s office will ensure the compilation of the main voter rolls for holding the plebiscite.
