About 50 local office holders from Cantemir left the parties of the Alliance for European Integration and joined the People’s Movement “Antimafie”. They said they are tired of corruption, oligarchy and criminality. Each of them intends to create local organizations of the movement at district or village level in order to fight mafia, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a news conference on February 27, Alexandru Florenta, director of the Cantemir post office, who was elected district councilor on the lists of the PDM, said that he is disappointed in the ruling alliance. “Nobody believes the alliance any longer. These are only cartel organizations. The country entered the phase of mafiotization, oligrachization of all the state institutions. A people’s movement is needed. It’s no longer a secret that all the institutions are corrupt, criminal and mafiotized, starting with the Presidential Office. Our duty is to obtain the condemnation of this political class. It must become history. We have a leader - Sergiu Mocanu, who has political experience both at internal and foreign levels,” said the adviser.
Viorica Plamadeala, who announced her withdrawal from the PDM, said that she gave her vote to the Democrats, but it was a wrong decision. “We must wake up from hibernation. What kind of future will we and our children have if the state steals from us, humiliates us, and impoverishes us?” asked the woman.
Ion Batca, school principal who was elected councilor in Vishniovka, Cantemir, on the lists of the PL, said that the conditions in which the people live in Moldova are disastrous. “The existing wrangles point to the need of a movement that will fight mafia,” he stated.
Petru Tarlev, member of the PDM from Taraclia, said that he has children who are abroad and grandchildren who must have a brought future in Moldova. The man said he hoped that among all the parties the PDM will brings things in the country in order, but it turned out to be a party like all the others, corrupt and oligarchized. “The AEI followed the same road as the Communists. They did nothing for the country’s development. They pursued only personal and party interests and abandoned the people,” said Petru Tarlev.
The conference involved 13 participants who spoke in the name of 50 persons who announced their defection from the PLDM, PDM and PL. Today, February 27, they joined the People’s Movement “Antimafie”.
