A social crisis is possible in the Transnistrian region. According to Liviu Vovc, Secretary General of the DA Platform Party, this will happen in spring, when citizens will not receive salaries and pensions. The politician said during a public debate at IPN news agency that this could be even more dangerous than what is currently happening, adding that solutions must be prepared in advance, including with the help of European partners.

"Now we are talking about energy, gas, electricity. It seems that we have solved the problem by the end of the heating season, but in a few months another even more dangerous crisis awaits us - the social one, when citizens of the Transnistrian region will not receive salaries, pensions. How will we react then? That is why we need to think about a strategy now, to discuss with the European Union how we can solve the next crisis, which could be at least two months from now", Liviu Vovc emphasized.

In his opinion, the condition of updating energy tariffs to market prices in the Transnistrian region is a successful one. At the same time, says the politician, in addition to the conditions, solutions need to be thought out. "The "Together" Bloc (of which the "DA Platform" is a part - editor's note) came out two weeks ago with statements that it would be fair, if the price of electricity and gas on the left bank is increased, that the Moldovan government should compensate the citizens on the left bank as well. It is real and it could be so at the first stage, to help the people on the left bank," said Liviu Vovc.

Asked what levers Chisinau can have to monitor the observance of all conditions for rational use of gas in the Transnistrian region, Liviu Vovc said that experts from the right bank have already been allowed to carry out an assessment in the Transnistrian region, at the metallurgical and cement plants in Ribnitsa, on their activity. The party's general secretary added that the energy consumption of domestic consumers and the industrial sector in the Transnistrian region is known, which, according to Vovc, is important and necessary information in the process of developing strategies.

The general secretary of the DA Platform also referred to the "propaganda against Moldova" that is being broadcast on Transnistrian TV stations and blames Chisinau for the crisis in the Transnistrian region. Liviu Vovc said that earlier he had spoken about the need to create conditions for Moldovan TV stations to be broadcast on the left bank of the Dniester River or for the Moldovan government's statements to be broadcast on Transnistrian TV stations. Now the signal of the public TV channel Moldova 1 is being picked up by media distributors in the Transnistrian region, Liviu Vovc said.

The politician said that the so-called Tiraspol government currently has no other solution but to accept aid from Chisinau and the European Union with the conditions imposed.
