The Government has approved the list of the National Award winners for the year 2019.
These are: Lică Sainciuc, painter and book illustrator, for artistic work, originality and exceptional contribution to cultivating the aesthetic values of the new generations through visual art;
Alexandra Conunova-Dumortier, violinist, for interpretive performance in the universal violin musical art and promoting the image of Moldova in the world;
Gheorghe Urschi, actor, director, writer, for his lifetime work;
The group consisting of Galina Lupașcu, doctor in biological sciences, research professor, Nadejda Mihnea, doctor in biological sciences, research lecturer, Larisa Andronic, doctor in biological sciences, research lecturer, Svetlana Smerea, doctor in biological sciences, research lecturer, the research and innovation activity in the field of increasing the productivity and resistance of crop plants through modern and conventional biotechnologies;
Val Butnaru, writer, playwright, for the original artistic approach and contribution to the development of theatrical art in Moldova;
Tatiana Tîbuleac, writer, for the special aesthetic value of her literary work and promoting the image of Moldova in Europe;
Iurii Canașin, sculptor, university professor, for his outstanding contribution to the development of the art of sculpture in Moldova and the promotion of universal values.
The winners were selected from 33 submitted applications. The National Award comes with a cash prize of 100,000 lei.
