List of functionaries sued by Ministry of Justice

The Ministry of Justice published the list of 37 judges, prosecutors and other public servants who were sued by the state because, owing to their action or inaction, Moldova was convicted by the ECHR, IPN reports.

The list includes judges Liuba Pruteanu and Sergiu Lazari of the Buiucani Court, Vitalie Cotorobai of the Hancesti Court, Constantin Ghencea of the Cantemir Court, Tudor Chircu and Galina Vavrin of the Cahul Appeals Court and Dumitru Chebac, ex-judge of the Cahul Appeals Court.

The list also contains Galina Stratulat, Sveatoslav Moldovan, Valeriu Doaga, Tamara Chisca-Doneva, Tatiana Vieru, Nicolae Gordila, who are all judges of the Supreme Court of Justice, and Svetlana Novac, Valentin Barba, Tudor Popovici and Constantin Gurschi, who are ex-judges of the Supreme Court of Justice as well as  Ana Gavrilita of the Chisinau Appeals Court, Djeta Chistol of the Centru Court, Iulia Cimpoi, Ion Muruianu, Nina Cernat, Anatol Minciună, Ana Panov, and Victor Pruteanu of the Chisinau Appeals Court, and Mihail Macar, of the Hancesti Court.

The sued prosecutors are: Daniela Chiriac, Igor Cerchez and Alexei Alexentiev of the Buiucani Prosecutor’s Office, Aurel Burlacu and Igor Lamba of the Hancesti Prosecutor’s Office, and Igor Chiriac and Ion Tetcu of the Calarasi Prosecutor’s Office.

Among the sued public functionaries are deputy mayor of Chisinau municipality Vlad Cotet and the director of the Local Medical Association “Centru” Anadela Glavan. The list also includes a dead person, Olga Adam.

Minister of Justice Vladimir Cebotari said these persons will have to cover the costs incurred by Moldova after it was convicted by the ECHR. The Ministry of Justice will determine what possessions those to blame have so as to ensure the damage is repaired. At this stage, the involved cases refer to domestic violence, non-protection of personal data, illegal detention, violation of the right to a fair trial, trying of a case in the absence of the claimant and others.
