The PAS’ candidate for mayor of Chisinau Lilian Carp said that Chisinau should be placed next to the European capitals. In a news conference after the closure of polls, he said he is confident that together with the inhabitants of Chisinau, he will be able to do his best to make the city comfortable for everyone.
Lilian Carp approved of the fact that the citizens of Chisinau voted in a higher number than at the general local elections of 2019. He said that in the election campaign, he had a difficult mission – to prove that the capital city is managed by a liar who hides behind façade works.
PAS chairman Igor Grosu said the elections were held in a political context related to the European integration and the citizens’ vote is not only a vote for the mayor, but is also a pro-European vote. This time the Moldovans also voted against the criminal groups and the Kremlin coalitions of these.
Igor Grosu called on the citizens to mobilize and in two weeks to vote pro-European mayors in towns and villages given that the mayors in a number of localities will not be elected by the first round of voting.
