Lilia Fisikovici set a new national record in half marathon. The 29-year-old athlete achieved the result of 1:12.11 and ranked 36th at the World Half Marathon Championships in Valencia, IPN reports.
The previous record of 1:12.25 was set by Valentina Enachi 22 years ago in France. Lilia’s performance is even more valuable as the weather conditions weren’t the most favorable and the competition took place amid a strong wind.
Lilia Fisikovici, who is from Tiraspol, finished 27th in marathon at the Rio Olympic Games. Her objective is to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
