The parliamentary group of the Liberal Party suggested a draft decision on the suspension of Igor Dodon from the post of President of Moldova and the organization of a referendum on his dismissal. In the September 21 sitting of Parliament, the Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said that President Dodon by his latest acts seriously violates the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

According to Mihai Ghimpu, Igor Dodon, after he made anti-state statements, calling the unionists “degenerates”, and banned the Moldovan military from taking part in international military exercises should be dismissed for the violation of the constitutional norm and the taken oath.

“I hope the proposed draft decision will be supported by our colleagues from the other groups and will be registered for being examined in Parliament so that he is suspended and a referendum is held. These violations are serious,” stated Mihai Ghimpu.

The Liberals need at least 34 signatures to register the draft decision.
