The Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group on January 24 will submit a draft law to abrogate the decision by which Valeriu Ghiletski was named Deputy Speaker of Parliament, IPN reports.

According to the leader of the Lib-Dems in Parliament Tudor Deliu, the public opinion was manipulated. Valeriu Ghiletski was chosen by 34 MPs out of 88 attending, not by a majority of votes, as the regulations provide.

Tudor Deliu said that after the December 22 vote by which the head of the group of the European People’s Party of Moldova Valeriu Ghiletski was appointed Deputy Speaker of Parliament, the Lib-Dems verbally informed the Speaker about the voting error, but nothing was done.

The Lib-Dems urged Valeriu Ghiletski to tender his resignation, but he didn’t do it and the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group will thus make use of all the legal instruments to restore the prestige of the legislative body, Tudor Deliu stated in a news conference.
