The leader of the social political Movement “Ravnopravie” (SPMR), Valeri Climenco, requests in an open letter the resignation of the head of state, justifying that “the president of the Republic of Moldova leaded the country towards poverty and desperation”. About this Climenco declared on Tuesday, June 20, at a press conference. In the letter addressed to the head of state, Climenco states that Voronin has done too much harm to the state, and his actions can not be qualified as “an unintentional mixture of absurdities and tragic mistakes”, but as “sabotage executed at order that came from outside”. Climenco states that, despite the massive propaganda in the controlled mass-media and of the “glazed” statistic data, the “successes” of Voronin’s governing in the country’s economical policy are only stagnation and inflation, and definitely not the increase of the living standards, and the so-called wage and pension increases is only fiction. The quoted source accuses the president Voronin of debasing the relationships with the Russian Federation, as well as the situation on the Transnistrian dispute worsen, according to Climenco, because of the “irrational refuse” to implement the Kozak settlement plan. According to Climenco, keeping Voronin as president “means losing the state-ship of the Republic of Moldova, which will become a district of Romania”. The SPMR leader thinks that the office of president, which is a symbolic one, must be carried out by a calm and wise person, not necessarily a member of the political elite. At the parliamentary elections on March 6, 2006, SPMR accumulated 2.83% of the total votes.
