The Democratic Party (PDM) selected its representatives at the negotiations with the former colleagues from the Alliance for European Integration that are to start on March 13. These are: acting Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Lazar and MPs Igor Corman and Adrian Candu. The Liberal Party (PL) hasn’t yet delegated negotiators, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The PDM decided that I and my colleagues, MPs Corman and Candu, will act as negotiators. Judging by the conclusions reached and the mistakes made in time, we were empowered to look into the future,” Valeriu Lazar said in the program “In Depth” on Pro TV channel. He also said that at the beginning the parties must agree what kind of government they want and to establish what went well and what went wrong so as to set common objectives and a common course. According to him, the objective of these negotiations is to ensure efficient governance by instituting a solid parliamentary majority and an efficient executive that would deal with the challenges. PL deputy chairman, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said their party hasn’t yet decided who will represent them at the talks. “The party’s leader Mihai Ghimpu will return from Brussels and the Political Bureau will take a relevant decision shortly,” he stated. The head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet said that his party wants the alliance to be kept and to become functional so that the early parliamentary elections are avoided. They will propose Vlad Filat for the post of Prime Minister. Earlier, acting Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, Deputy Head of Parliament Liliana Palihovici and MP Valeriu Strelet were delegated to represent the Lib-Dems at the talks.
