Victor Muntean, the lawyer for the firm “Proimobil”, calls on the Moldovan authorities to take steps to make sure that the justice system offenses, including illegal holding of someone accountable on purpose and passing of illegal decisions against persons, do not have statute of limitations, IPN reports.

In a news conference at IPN, the lawyer said that in 2019, one of the first statements of the new political class was that the Republic of Moldova was a captured state and the justice system was also captured. The case of “Proimobil”, which someone wants to appropriate by threats and fabricated cases, is not the only one. “I address the politicians: You will do a big favor to the persons who suffered in that period owing to the illegal actions of the persons who used the mechanisms of the state to persecute, to take over businesses or simply to take revenge on political or business opponents. You should think about the fact that the legal system offenses, including illegal holding of someone accountable on purpose and passing of illegal judgments against persons, should not have statute of limitations,” noted the lawyer.

He said that persons are persecuted. Several years pass and the cases are sent to court for those who persecuted by using state mechanisms to be held accountable. Burt those persons cannot be brought to justice owing to the statute of limitations, either because the offenses are minor or are of another type.

Victor Muntean said that more criminal cases against “Proimobil” were started last year. He has information from the State Tax Service showing that a real estate agent, for example, does not have debts to the Service. However, criminal cases continue to be started and sent to court. “Harassment continues to be used, but we hope that these are the last convulsions of the persons who still try, out of inertia, to use the old instruments and mechanisms that were already changed and that these are separate cases that will be stopped in the near future. The situation is serious indeed as I know from inside that by discrediting a person through the media, a particular goal was being perused. Time changes yet and we hope the justice system will become correct and the prosecutors are on the way to correctness,” stated the lawyer for “Proimobil”.

In the same news conference, Vlad Musteață, the founder of “Proimobil”, said that he has been pressed since 2016 so that his real estate business can be taken over illegally.
