Lawyer Veaceslav Iacob Țurcan died after developing complications caused by COVID-19, jurist Ion Guzun announced through a social networking site, being quoted by IPN.
“It is great sadness at a great loss. I think he was one of the few naïve, but full of hope lawyers believing that the human rights violations and abuses should be revealed and it is worth fighting for the truth till the end. He struggled a lot for others, including for the victims of the April 2009 events, but didn’t have power to fight for his life,” Ion Guzun posted on Facebook.
Veaceslav Iacob Țurcan founded Amnesty International Moldova and the law firm “Veaceslav Țurcan &Co”.
