Lawyer Stanislav Ciobanu offers his services to passengers who have suffered as a result of the cancellation or postponement of flights by FlyOne. The lawyer, who himself was among the passengers who had to wait for hours at the airport, intends to file a class action in court to seek compensation from the airline.
In a press conference on Wednesday, the lawyer said that every passenger who suffered has the right to ask for compensation. This includes compensations of 250 euros in case of delays of more than two hours for journeys that are up to 1500 km, and 400 euros for those that exceed this distance, up to 2500 km.
According to Stanislav Ciobanu, passengers must first contact the airline to request extrajudicial compensation. If the company refuses, they have the right to go to court, where, in addition to compensation, they can request that the airline be forced to pay the costs of legal assistance.
The lawyer also says that the sanctions that the Civil Aeronautics Authority has imposed on FlyOne are not enough of a deterrent to prevent it from engaging in the same behavior in the future. The airline, says Ciobanu, failed not inform its passengers in time about the delayed flights and left them in the airport for hours.
