Lawyer Ilie Rotaru, independent candidate in constituency no. 50 in the west of the Republic of Moldova, presented his electoral program. He also asked his counter-candidates to do the same, to present "their written programs and not empty words."

At an IPN press conference, Ilie Rotaru, has said that, if he becomes MP, he will do everything the law provides to start criminal cases against Vladimir Plahotniuc and Vladimir Voronin, as well as their accomplices. They would be investigated "for setting up and running a criminal organization".

Ilie Rotaru opts for the establishment of a parliamentary commission to investigate the activity of prosecutors and judges in the last 10-15 years concerning the mass fabrication of criminal cases, and the rendering of sentences on order.

The lawyer says that he will plead for the liquidation of the Superior Council of Prosecutors and the exclusion from the Constitution of any mention about this "body invented by Vladimir Plahotniuc". He will do his best to reorganize the National Anticorruption Center into the Criminal Investigation Department, within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Ilie Rotaru says he will propose to pass the law which provides for the appointment to public positions of any level only based on competition, by passing written exams. He will opt for the prohibition of party switching. He will also initiate the adoption of a law on a wide amnesty, especially for women. According to the lawyer, half of the women in the penitentiaries are not guilty and ended up there as a result of fabricated cases, being accused of human trafficking.

He says he will work to pass a law that will allow the Government, at the proposal of the ministries, to set up state-owned enterprises, especially in the field of agriculture, agricultural production processing and scientific research. He will require the establishment of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Organization, but also the restoration of industrial enterprises that existed in Moldova in 1990.

Ilie Rotaru declares that he will work on the urgent passing of a law that will order the termination of all liquidation procedures in the Moldovan banks. The assets and liabilities should be transferred to the Government with the obligation to restore the respective banks and to obtain the restitution of the amounts of money stolen from the banks. He will do his best for the rapid building of new roads and the repairs to the existing ones, for the construction of houses.

Another commitment is to do everything possible to adopt a law based on which citizens who are working or worked abroad could contract interest-free loans for the business plans they want to develop. He also wants to introduce a progressive and differentiated taxation of revenues of individuals and legal entities and their properties.

The lawyer says that if he becomes MP he will take actions to ban the activities of private judicial executors. He will also opt for the adoption of a law that does not allow the unfounded increase in prices and manipulation of the exchange rate.

The snap parliamentary elections will take place concurrently with the general local elections on October 20.
