“Last Thursday was a black day in Parliament. It was a day of betrayal,” Liberal MP Valeriu Saharneanu said in an interview for the publication “Timpul de dimineata”, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Under the agreement on the formation of the Alliance for European Integration, the post of director of the Security and Information Service was distributed to the Liberal Party. Last Thursday, Gheorghe Mihai was dismissed from the post of SIS director by the votes of the Liberal-Democrat and Communist lawmakers, at Premier Vlad Filat’s request.
The MP said the two parliamentary groups voted together in accordance with an agreement reached by the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin and the Liberal-Democrat leader Vlad Filat.
”It was evident that there was an agreement between Voronin and Filat. What happened in Parliament showed that there was a well-thought-out scenario. Last Thursday was a black day, a day of betrayal. I think it is for the first time in the history of the parliaments of the world that the Prime Minister presents a report, while the opposition has no questions,” said Valeriu Saharneanu.
According to him, Vlad Filat’s case is similar to the case of Iurie Rosca. “It is the second stage in a breaking 20-year-period – one was Rosca in 2005 and another one is now Filat. The two cases are similar. The ‘raider’ phenomenon about which Mister Filat speaks is identical to that of ‘clean hands’ of 1999. The terms are different, but the essence is the same,” he stated.
Asked if betraying the voters, we can say that Filat betrayed Europe as well, Valeriu Saharneanu answered: “The West is very interested in Moldova. But Rosca also cooperated with the West… As an associate member of the European People’s Party, he was the person who informed the political majority in the European Parliament. But Europe also changed. In 2005, Europe welcomed Voronin’s election as head of state and hurried to recognize the results of the April 2009 elections even if there were proofs that they had been rigged long before April 5.”
The Liberal lawmaker voiced hope that the Premier would change his position that leads to the destruction of the ruling alliance. He said that Vlad Filat may have made a mistake and will try to correct it as he invited the other leaders of the AEI to a meeting on October 17.
