After the processing of 305 of 307 minutes, candidate of the Socialist Party, Ion Ceban has accumulated 40.30% of the votes, while candidate of ACUM bloc Andrei Năstase - 31.01%, IPN reports with reference to the data of the Central Election Commission, presented online.
According to preliminary data, the Liberal Party candidate, former mayor Dorin Chirtoaca, who has accumulated 10.14% of the votes, is in third place. The other candidates are under 5%.
In the city of Balti, after the 100% processing of the minutes, Renato Usatîi, the candidate of “Our Party” political party has accumulated 61.93% of the votes, being elected mayor in the first round.
In Orhei, after the processing all the minutes, the candidate of Sor political party, Pavel Verejan, has accumulated 80.03% of the votes, being elected mayor of Orhei. In the town of Cahul, independent candidate Nicolae Dandiș became mayor with 81.95% of the votes.
As mayor shall be elected the candidate who has accumulated 50% + one vote. If none of the candidates manages to cross this threshold, the second round of elections is organized with the first two candidates, where the winner is the one who has accumulated the greatest number of votes.
In the Chisinau Municipal Council, results are the following: PSRM - 37.75%, the ACUM Bloc - 33.16%, PL - 6.35%, PDM - 3.98%, Șor Party - 3.86%, PUN - 2.77 %, New Force Movement - 2.13%. The other electoral contenders have accumulated less than 2% of the vote.
Overall, more than 1,173 million voters, or 41.68% of those with voting rights, have participated in the October 20 elections.
