Last night’s heavy rain causes damage to crops

Tens of hectares of farmland were damaged by last night’s heavy rain, the Service for Civil Protection and Exceptional Situations press officer Liliana Puscasu has told Info-Prim Neo. The torrential rain and hail destroyed 40 hectares of orchards in Sarata-Galbena village, Hancesti district, 16 hectares of sunflower fields and 8 hectares of vegetable crops in Hasnasenii Noi village, Drochia district. In Straseni, 18 hectares of vineyards and 11 of orchards were affected. The overall financial damage is yet to be estimated. Additionally, Liliana Puscasu informed that an engineer team disarmed 26 pieces of 45mm artillery shells and an 88mm plane bomb dated to the WWII. The ammunition was discovered in a yard in Puhaceni village, Anenii Noi district. Another identical bomb was found in Viisoara village, Stefan-Voda district.
