More than 50 firefighters of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations continue struggling to contain the blaze in the municipality of Balti, where a warehouse caught fire on Wednesday morning. Sixteen special vehicles are at the scene, IPN reports.
After four hours, the Inspectorate’s employees were replaced to ensure the continuity of the operation. At the same time, the reserve teams were placed on alert and are ready to intervene if necessary.
The authorities inform that the firefighters managed to localize the fire at 12:17 p.m.
The fire broke out in a plastic recycling warehouse with an area of about 2,200 square meters, located at 193 Stefan cel Mare St in Balti.
Police and carabineer crews are also at the scene to ensure the security of the area. In the meantime, a number of economic agents operating in the area came to the aid with heavy vehicles.
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said that the firefighting operation continues and the authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
