Labor Code should be modernized, employers

The shortage of labor force is now one of the problems faced by business entities in different areas, as representatives of employers asserted. In a meeting with Prime Minister Ion Chicu, these underlined the necessity of regulating state inspections and of modernizing the Labor Code, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

Representatives of the National Employers Confederation of Moldova stressed the importance of consolidating public policies in the field of constructions within one ministry. According to them, the budgetary-fiscal policy should be decided for a long term. Among other discussed subjects were the meal vouchers, the entrepreneurs’ patent, holding of public tender contests, taxes in the hospitality industry and the justice sector reform.

Premier Chicu stated the Government’s view on how the problems addressed in the meeting can be solved. As regards the reduction in the number of state inspections, he said that the economic police will be soon dissolved.

As regards the budgetary-fiscal policy, he confirmed the Government’s intention to create clear and stable rules for the activity of business entities. In this regard, the employers were invited to take part in the negotiation platform launched by the Ministry of Finance so as to set the objectives of the fiscal policy for 2021 in May 2020.

The official said that all the enumerated problems necessitate a systemic approach and the executive is ready to cooperate with the social partners so as to find solutions.
