The Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselsky announced that Tiraspoltransgaz is ready to start to purchase natural gas through Moldovagaz. According to him, an official request in this regard was sent to Moldovagaz on Saturday, IPN reports.
"The Transnistrian region agrees with and supports Moldovagaz's wish to supply gas. The payment is guaranteed," said Krasnoselsky.
He specified that providing heat to homes in the Transnistrian region is a priority.
"In order to solve the problem as soon as possible, for the people to have heat and electricity in their homes and the whole social infrastructure to receive heat and electricity, we are ready to accept the conditions put forward by the administration in Chisinau," stated Krasnoselsky.
IPN’s reporter tried to get a reaction from the interim head of Moldovagaz Vadim Ceban, but no response has been received so far. Earlier, however, Vadim Ceban said that Moldovagaz is ready to buy gas at market prices for Tiraspoltransgaz, and the payment can be made in lei. The statement was made in reaction to what the so-called leader in Tiraspol Vadim Krasnoselski said. The latter asserted that the Transnistrian region cannot purchase gas on the European market because it does not have accounts to pay in euros or dollars.
