Constituency No. 7: Soroca embraces Soroca town and another 22 localities of Soroca district. The people there will vote at polling places No. 7/1-7/52. The candidate who wins the largest number of votes in a single-member constituency, regardless of the voter turnout, emerges victorious.

The list of candidates on the ballot is headed by the Democratic Party’s candidate Victor Său, a jurist and technologist-builder. In 2015, he was elected mayor of Soroca town and earlier headed the district of Soroca. In 2007-2011, Victor Său also served as the mayor of Soroca. The candidate, who is one of the founders of the Liberal Democratic Party, left this party in 2017. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, Victor Său and his wife declared over 158,000 lei in salary and over 42,000 lei in revenues from other sources. The family owns a piece of land, an apartment and two cars.

The second place is taken by the Party of Socialists’ candidate Alla Pilipetskaya, an engineer by profession. In 2009, the businesswoman was named vice director of SRL “Debut-Sor” where she is a co-founder, while in 2013 she became the sausages company’s director general. For January 1, 2017 – December 26, 2018, the candidate and her husband declared over 359,000 lei salary and more than 579,000 lei from other sources. The family owns a plot of land and a part of another plot and a number of dwellings.

Current Communist MP Elena Bodnarenko, an economist by profession, is under No. 3. The MP, who is a master of public administration, forms part of the parliamentary commission on public administration. She also served as an MP in 2005-2009, while in 2011- 2015 she held the post of mayor of Soroca town. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate declared over 303,000 lei salary and over 23,000 lei in allowances.

Independent candidate Alexandru Cimbriciuc, a jurist by profession, comes fourth. In 2009-2014, Cimbriciuc served as an MP on behalf of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova, being then vice president of the parliamentary commission on national security, defense and public order. In 2015, he was named deputy minister of defense and in 2016 he resigned and withdrew from the PLDM. Currently, Alexandru Cimbriciuc is the vice president of the national political council of the National Unity Party. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate declared over 61,000 lei salary and 2,400 lei in allowances. As to assets, he said these were declared earlier.

The fifth place is taken by the Shor Party’s candidate Maxim Melnic, who studied business and management. He heads the Monitoring and Control Division of “Regia Apă Canal Soroca”. According to alege2019.md, after the local elections of 2011, Maxim Melnic became councilor of Soroca town on behalf of the Liberal Democratic Party. In 2014, he joined the People’s Force Party and ran in the parliamentary elections of 2014 on this party’s ticket. At the beginning of 2015, Maxim Melnic defected to the European People’s Party of Moldova and after the local elections of 2015 became Soroca district councilor and Soroca town councilor. In 2016, he left the PPEM and served as a politically unaffiliated councilor. In July 2018, he was named the Shor Party’s authorized representative in Soroca. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate declared over 319,000 lei salary. Together with his wife, he declared over 146,000 lei in allowances. The family owns a piece of land, a part of an apartment and a car.

The candidate of the electoral bloc ACUM Platform DA and PAS Larisa Ungurean, a teacher of geography and biology, is under No. 6. The candidate heads the local trade union organization of the Lyceum “Constantin Stere” and the Soroca local organization of the Party “Action and Solidarity”. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, she and her husband declared over 149,000 lei in salary and disability pension. The candidate also earned over 95,000 lei from teaching activity and more than 37,000 lei from intellectual property rights. Larisa Ungurean owns a plot for residential constructions, a garden, a home and a car.

The Our Party’s candidate Anastasia Televca, a teacher and a councilor on the Soroca Town Council, comes seventh. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate declared 12,000 lei revenues from teaching . As a councilor, Anastasia Televca and her husband obtained over 23,000 lei salary.
