Know candidates in your constituency! No. 41: Leova, Cantemir

Constituency No. 41: Leova, Cantemir embraces the towns of Leova and Iargara and another 13 localities of Leova district. The electors there will vote at polling places No. 41/1 to 41/60. The candidate who wins the largest number of votes in a single-member constituency, regardless of the voter turnout, emerges victorious.

The first spot on the ballot is taken by the Democratic Party’s candidate Efrosinia Grețu, a teacher by profession. In 2007 she was elected deputy head of Leova district, while in 2011 as head of the district. She held the latter post for four years after renouncing the seat of MP in 2015. Over the past two years, the candidate earned over 43,000 lei for providing training services at the public association “International Cooperation and Development Center Phoenix” and also 31,000 lei interest on bank deposits. Efrosinia Grețu received over 228,000 lei pension, allowances and rental. She owns four lots of land, a house and an apartment.

The Party of Socialists’ candidate Aliona Briciag, a teacher of biology teaching at the Theoretical Lyceum “Mihai Eminescu” in Leova town, is under No 2. She is a member of the PSRM’s National Council and since June 2015 has served as a Leova district councilor on behalf of the PSRM. For the last two years, the candidate and her husband declared over 207,000 lei salaries. She also gained 500,000 Russian rubles in donation and over 3,000 lei allowances. She owns ten lots of farmland, an apartment and a car.

The Shor Party’s candidate Andrei Trandafir, a retired welder, occupied the third spot. According to alege2019.md, after the local elections of June 2015, Andrei Trandafir became a district councilor in Leova on behalf of the Our Party. In July 2018, he was named the empowered representative of the Shor Party in Leova district. For the last two years, the candidate declared over 87,000 lei pension and allowances and no property.

The fourth spot is taken by independent candidate Alexandru Bujorean, a jurist by profession. The 31-year-old candidate is the manager of SRL “Sudagroscut”. He is the vice president of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova and president of the Leova local organization of the PLDM. For the last two years, the candidate declared over 55,000 lei salary and more than 150,000 lei dividends. The candidate’s wife in the period received over 17,000 lei in child benefit. Alexandru Bujorean owns a lot of land and two cars.

The Our Party’s candidate Sergiu Butuc, a jurist by profession, is under No. 5. He is the incumbent deputy head of Cantemir district who was promoted to this post by the Party of Communists in 2015. Currently, Sergiu Butuc heads the Cantemir local organization of the Our Party. For the last two years, the candidate and his wife declared over 296,000 lei salary revenues and more than 7.7 million lei earned from the sale of a car and lots of land. Sergiu Butuc owns 11 lots of land, a house, two apartments and two cars.

The candidate of the electoral bloc ACUM Platform DA and PAS Vladimir Putregai, a veterinarian by profession, comes sixth. He has served as the mayor of Cociulia village during the past 12 years. For the last two years, the candidate and his wife declared almost 377,000 lei salary revenues. Vladimir Putregai owns four lots of farmland, a building lot, s storehouse and a car.
