Constituency No. 21: 22: Ialoveni, Strășeni, Călărași includes Ialoveni town and another 9 localities of Ialoveni district and by five settlements of Strășeni and Călărași districts. The electors there will vote at polling places No. 22/1-22/37. The candidate who wins the largest number of votes in a single-member constituency, regardless of the voter turnout, emerges victorious.

The Democratic Party’s candidates Monica Babuc, suspended minister of education, culture and research, tops the list of candidates in this constituency. She joined the Democratic Party in 2010. In 2011-2013, she headed the staff of the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament and then the Parliament’s information service and worked as the Speaker’s adviser. She served as minister of culture in 2013-2017 and then became minister of education, culture and research as a result of the restructuring of the central public administration. For the last two years, she and her husband declared about 844,000 lei salary revenues. The family owns two apartments, two cars and holdings in a joint stock company and a limited liability company.

The Party of Socialists’ candidate, Lidia Onu, an economist by profession, is under No. 2 on the ballot. She heads the Ialoveni local organization of the Party of Socialists. According to alege2019.md, in 1989-2000 the candidate worked as an accountant, including senior accountant, at ASECOOP Cinișeuți. In 2001 - 2007, she worked as a teacher and deputy principal of the secondary school in Gordinești village. After the local elections of 2007, she became deputy head of Rezina district on social matters. Later she worked as the manager of an insurance company. For the past two years, she and her husband declared over 73,000 lei salary, more than 34,000 lei revenues from the sale of property and about 25,000 lei in allowances. The family owns 11 pieces of land, two houses, two apartments and two cars.

Independent candidate Angela Istrate, a lawyer at the law office bearing her name, takes the third spot. In 2004-2016, she held administrative posts at the Lawyers Union. For the past two years, she and her husband declared over 449,000 lei revenues from professional activity. The family owns two pieces of land, a house, a garage and a building, two cars and 3,000 lei in a checking account.

The Shor Party’s candidate Victor Sănduță, a master of political sciences, is under No.4. For the past two years, the candidate declared over 3,000 lei revenues and almost 8,000 lei in allowances. He owns four pieces of land, two apartments, a house, two buildings and two cars. He is the owner of a commercial organization that provides car repair services.

The candidate of the electoral bloc ACUM DA PAS Liviu Vovc, an architect by profession, comes fifth. He is the founder of the public association “DECID” and the vice president of the Platform Dignity and Truth. For the past two years, Liviu Vovc didn’t declare salary revenues. His wife earned about 24,000 lei in salary. The family gained over 77,000 lei scholarships and allowances and owns two pieces of land, a bought apartment and an inherited one.
