Know candidates in your constituency! No. 2: Ocnița, Dondușeni

Constituency No. 2: Ocnița, Dondușeni includes the towns of Ocnița, Otaci and Frunză and another 16 localities that form part of Ocnița district, Dondușeni town and 16 localities of the district. The people there will vote at polling places No. 2/1-2/53. The candidate who wins the largest number of votes in a single-member constituency, regardless of the voter turnout, emerges victorious.

The list of candidates on the ballot is headed by the Democratic Party’s candidate Vadim Lesnic, jurist, who heads the Dondușeni district. Vadim Lesnic for the period between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2018 declared over 257,000 lei in salary, 100,000 lei from the sale of a car and 3,600 lei from other sources, such as pensions, scholarships and awards. According to the property and personal interests statement of March 2018, Vadim Lesnic and his family didn’t own real estate or shareholdings in companies. Instead, Vadim Lesnic owns three vehicles, including a Skoda Superb, worth 700,000 lei.

The Party of Socialists’ candidate Irina Lozovan, jurist, is under No. 2. The head of the local organization of the PSRM for January 1, 2017 – December 26, 2018 declared over 100,000 lei in salary and more than 9,000 lei in allowances. According to the property and personal interests statement of March 2018, Irina Lozovan owns a house that is 99.5 square meters in area (purchased in 2003) and two pieces of land.

The Shor Parity’s candidate Eduard Fedișin, economist by profession, but currently a carrier, is under No. 3. In his statement to the Central Election Commission, the candidate didn’t declare incomes for January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, but indicated two pieces of land and a car to the value of 10,000 lei. According to the portal alege2019.md, in the campaign prior to the preliminary elections of 2014, Eduard Fedișin was on the list of trustworthy people of the PATRIA Party (headed by Emilian Ciobu). On July 2, 2018, Eduard Fedișin was named authorized representative of the Shor Party in Ocnița and Dondușeni districts.

The forth place on the ballot is taken by the Party of Communists’ candidate Andrei Țopa, engineer and deputy head of the Ocnița District Council. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate declared over 176,000 in salary and 154,000 lei in pension. Andrei Țopa also declared eight pieces of land, an apartment, a house and a car.

The candidate of the electoral bloc ACUM Platform DA and PAS Remus Ciobanu is under No. five. The engineer manages “Constructor-Comfort” SRL. In his statement to the CEC, the candidate for January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018 declared 47,000 lei in salary and 19,000 lei in donations and inheritance. The company he manages earned over 29,000 lei revenues. According to the property and personal interests statement of January 2019, Remus Ciobanu and his family own two plots of land, a house, an apartment, two cars and a truck.

The Our Party’s candidate Eduard Pleșca comes sixth. A jurist by profession, he works at the Academy of Orthodox Theology of Moldova. For January 1, 2017 – December 31, 2018, the candidate declared over 56,000 salary and over 20,000 lei allowances. According to the property and personal interests statement, Eduard Pleșca and his family do not own real estate, only a car Toyota Auris.
