Former MP Kiril Moțpan, ex-deputy chairman of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA), revealed the reasons for his departure from the party led by Dinu Plîngău. He noted that he no longer resonated with the actions of the party’s leadership and therefore decided to withdraw from politics. According to Moțpan, the dissensions between him and the party’s leadership arose due to differing visions, but he has maintained friendly relations with party members at the local level, IPN reports.

In January, the former head of the parliamentary commission for national security, defense and public order announced that he was leaving the PPPDA. A few months later, Kiril Moțpan admitted that the decision to leave was influenced by the actions of the party’s leadership.

“I realized that I cannot team up with the current leaders of the DA Platform. I refer to the chairman, in particular. I let them do their job the way they think is best. From my post, I saw that the people were fair to me and to the decision I made because during eight years I abundantly demonstrated the desire to make changes on this Romanian land. I keep in touch with mates from the DA Platform, especially people from districts,” former MP Kiril Moțpan stated in the talk show “Nonconfidential” on Radio Moldova.

He hinted that there is interference in the party’s activities and the processes inside the party are directed from outside.

“Things that are less orthodox always happen at management level, when different interests appear, when people from elsewhere get involved and start to direct processes. I, being older than my mates, had a distinct position. I didn’t accept particular things. I expressed my opinion whenever necessary. That’s why disagreements arose,” said the former deputy chairman of the PPPDA.

Kiril Moțpan entered Parliament in 2019 on the list of the ACUM bloc. He was one of the founders of the DA Platform and actively participating in the antigovernment protests of 2015-2016.
