The national tennis team of Moldova has a new member. After Maxim Dubarenco decided to represent Belarus, the captain of the national team for the Davis Cup Iurie Gorban included Maxim Bulat in the lineup for the duel with Hungary, IPN reports.
Bulat is 17 and played the last official match at the Cup of Prince Dimitrie Sturdza. He was eliminated in the second round by a tennis player from Ukraine. Bulat, who will turn 18 on March 18, is not present in the ATP simples and doubles rankings.
The team of Moldova also includes Radu Albot, Andrei Ciumac, and Andrei Gorban. The last two played no official match this year. Hungary’s squad consists of Marton Fucsovics (162nd in the world), Peter Nagy (745th), Gabor Borsos (944th), and Levente Godry (1,131st).
The five games of the first round of the Davis Cup Europe/Africa Zone Group II will be played in Gyor on hard surface on March 6-8.
