The Central Election Commission has warned that July 9 is the last day when political campaigning is possible. No electoral propaganda or electioneering are allowed on the election day and the day before it, IPN reports.
According to the Commission, the electoral competitors cannot appear in TV or radio programs, except for information that was already posted on the Internet and notices placed earlier, and cannot transfer money to or withdraw money from the Electoral Fund account.
If the mass media, election runners and private individuals continue campaigning on the electoral silence days, this is an administrative offense that is punished with a fine of 750 to 1,500 lei in the case of private individuals and of 1,750 to 2,500 lei in the case of electoral competitors or persons holding responsible posts.
