Judoka Petru Pelivan managed to obtain a single victory at the Cadet World Championships in Chile. Competing in the 66 kg category, he defeated Macedonia’s Hamza Jashari. However, in the next fight, he was bested by Tajikistan’s Dhzamoliddin Abdulloev, who went on to win the bronze medal, IPN reports.
One month ago, Petru Pelivan was the runner-up at the European Youth Olympics Festival in Gyor.
This evening, Moldova’s last representative at the Cadet Championships will join the contest. Eugen Matveiciuc will fight Brazil’s Nuciano Santos Junior in the 81 kg category.
