Moldovan judoka Iurie Mocanu has won a bronze medal at the Podcetrtek Senior European Cup in Slovenia, IPN reports.
He scored three victories in the 100 kg weight class, against Slovenia’s Blaz Vrankar, Ukraine’s Danylo Hutsol and Radim Knapek of the Czech Republic, being beaten in the semifinals only by the future winner - Daniel Herbst of Germany.
In the +100 kg class, Moldova’s Alin Bagrin lost the match for the bronze medal to Alieksiei Moisieiev of Ukraine.
