The capital’s interim mayor Vasile Ursu forbade the municipal councillor Oleg Cernei to attend “The Hour of Press”, held on Thursday, December 7, requesting the security to show him the door. Interim mayor claimed that “The Hour of Press” is not a public session, asking the councillor to leave the hall. “As long as Oleg Cernei is in the hall, I can not attend the meeting”, stated Vasile Ursu. The councillor refused to leave, and the interim mayor asked journalists to follow him to another hall. At the door the confrontations between Ursu and Cernei have lasted for several minutes, and after that the interim mayor went to his office. He came back shortly and after an exchange of retorts with Oleg Cernei, entered the sitting hall where the meeting with the journalists lasted about one hour. Municipal councillor Oleg Cernei was present in the hall but did not interfere. After “The Hour of Press” ended Cernei stated he came to the City Hall to disclaim in front of the journalists the allegations according to which he had forged some signatures of certain councillors and stolen an official document. Oleg Cernei, together with two municipal councillors, Mihai Roscovan and Ion Mamaliga, organized Tuesday, December 5 a press conference where they announced the petition signed by 18 colleagues calling to convene a CMC extraordinary sitting in order to resume debates on the item concerning Antena C and Euro TV Chisinau stations. The City Hall accused them of forging certain signatures, allegations qualified by them as “a provocation”. They have presented the list including 17 reconfirmed signatures, obliging, according to the legislation, the interim mayor to convene the CMC extraordinary session on December 14.
