A woman died after she was crushed by a car on Friday morning, at 06:30 a.m., near Nistreana quarter of Orhei town. The victim reportedly was jaywalking in an unlit place, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the impact was so strong that the woman died on the spot. The victim was in her 50s and her identity has not been established yet. The police continue the investigation.
The driver of the car is 21 years old and was not intoxicated at the time of the accident, as traffic police officers determined.
A criminal case was started on the case to establish all the circumstances in which the road accident occurred.
