Japan will offer Moldova a US$ 18.6 million loan for financing the project “Modernization of Agricultural Machinery and Equipment”. The initiation of negotiations and signing of the agreement will be ensured through the exchange of notes between the governments of the two states, IPN reports.
The loan will be repayable in 12 years and will be managed by the recently created Agency for Agricultural Development, not by the unit that implemented the 2KR project, which is also supported by Japan, as it was decided in March. This and other changes made meanwhile were taken into account when finalizing the draft agreement.
Since 2001, Japan has offered Moldova ten grants for modernizing agricultural machinery and equipment, contributing essentially to the provision of farmers with tractors and other modern machines.
