The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) is to have close cooperation relations with similar institutions of the Republic of Moldova in order to encourage investors in Japan to initiate systemic contacts with partners in Moldova. The cooperation initiative was launched in a meeting of Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi and JETRO executive vice president Naoyoshi Noguchi in Tokyo, IPN reports.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the interlocutors also discussed Moldova’s presentation at the business event that will take place in Bucharest this November. At this event, the JETRO will ensure the participation of over 20 Japanese companies that represent different sectors of the economy. The sides underlined the utility of presenting the success stories of Japanese investors in Moldova’s free enterprise zones – Fujikura and Sumitomo.
In the meeting with the executive senior vice president of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Kazuhiko Koishikawa, Tudor Ulianovschi reiterated the Moldovan Government’s appreciation of the technical assistance projects implemented through initiatives financed by the Government of Japan in such areas as agriculture, education, healthcare and environment.
In the discussions with Tadashi Shimura, president of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), the interlocutors considered methods of attracting groups of Japanese tourists to Moldova. It was suggested developing thematic concepts for the public in Japan, such as the “Life Tree”, “Moldova’s Wine – A Living Legend” and “From the Heart” and of assisting Moldovan companies in taking part in specialized tourism exhibitions.
As a result of the discussions with the Moldovan official, it was agreed to stage a seminar to promote Moldova’s tourism potential in cooperation with the Embassy of Moldova in Tokyo and the JATA until this yearend.
