Japanese expert team assessing National Library’s digital needs

A team of experts from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is on a working visit to Moldova to evaluate the opportunity of a project for improving the digitization process of the National Library.

On this occasion, Education Minister Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei met with the JICA expert team and Japan’s Ambassador Masanobu Yoshii.

The Ambassador expressed the availability of the Japanese government to deepen bilateral cooperation so that Moldovan citizens can benefit from the programs and projects implemented with Japan’s support. He highlighted in this context the achievements of the Kusanone Program, which has contributed to infrastructure improvements and better conditions in schools and kindergartens.

Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei thanked the Japanese partners for the support offered and the investment made in the field of culture, expressing her conviction that cooperation will successfully continue with further joint projects.
