January-April average salary rose 12.6%

The average monthly salary of a national economy worker over January-April 2009 was 2,619.9 lei, an increase of 12.6% compared with the corresponding period last year. The real salary grew by 10.1%, the National Bureau of Statistics has said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The average pay in April was 2,787.1 lei. In the budgetary sphere, the salary was 2,448.9 lei, while in the real sector – 2,985.5 lei. The lowest average salary was paid in agriculture, hunting and forestry – 1,358.7 lei, in fish breeding – 1,452.1 lei, in the areas of culture, sport and recreation – 2,042.8 lei. The employees from the financial sphere received an average pay of 6,050.7 lei, those from the electric power, heating, gas and water industries – of 5,205.6 lei, while those from transport and communications – of 3,809.4 lei.
