Ivan Emilianov qualifies for Olympic Games

Ivan Emilianov will compete in the Olympic Games for the fourth time. The 39-year-old athlete has qualified for the Rio Olympics after setting a national record in weight throw in the international tournament in Onesti, IPN reports.

He scored the result of 20.80 meters. He thus met the Olympic requirements and the conditions imposed by the International Association of Athletics Federations, which requires that the athletes should confirm the results at an international tournament.

At the same competition, Ivan Emilianov’s daughter Alexandra won a victory in discus throw with the result of 54.04 meters, setting also a national record in the up to 17 years category. Last year she became world champion among juniors.

Stefan Mura also medaled gold in Onesti in discus throw. He threw the discus of 1.75kg at the distance of 56.99m, while the discus of 2kg – at the distance of 52.72m.
