Prime Minister designate Iurie Leanca will be a good Head of Government if he has the freedom to personally manage the executive, without being directed from behind, Valeriu Cosarciuc, ex-negotiator and ex-minister within the Alliance for European Integration 1, said in the public debate “Culture of Government formation. What society must know, expect and demand when a new Government is formed as a result of a political crisis?”, staged by IPN News Agency.

According to Valeriu Cosarciuc, a problem of the previous Government was the lack of communication.  “The Premier is a member of the Government. It is important that the Premier be able to communicate. I think that Mister Leanca can communicate and can organize the people. He does it subtly so that the people do not believe that they are influenced. Everything depends on his freedom to act,” stated the former minister.

Ecaterina Mardarovici, executive director of the Political Women’s Club 50/50 and ex-MP, considers that Iurie Leanca does not lack the ability to take harsh decisions. “The Premier must not be super-economist or professional in all areas. He is a professional in one filed. What matters is how he ensures the communication in the new Cabinet and I think that he has these abilities,” she said.

Sergiu Ostaf, director of the Resource Center for Human Rights (CreDO), believes that the Prime Minister designate is the factor of change in the current government, but he cannot say if the European models adopted by Iurie Leanca are shared by the other players with whom talks are held.

Permanent expert to the debates Igor Botan said that society must understand from politicians’ words if structural changes will take place in the Government. “We want to know which ministries fulfilled their obligations and which didn’t? We want to know why? What is important is to transmit a clear message – we want those who beg votes from us not to be supported anymore if they make mistakes. They cannot simply create a crisis, paralyze the country and then come and say that they came to terms,” he stated.

The public debate “Culture of Government formation. What society must know, expect and demand when a new Government is formed as a result of a political crisis?” is the 17th of the series of public debates “Development of political culture by public debates” that are organized by IPN with support from the German foundation “Hanns Seidel”.
