Iurie Leanca meets with IMF experts

Prime Minister Iurie Leanca had a meeting with the mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) that is in Moldova. The meeting centered on the objectives of the second IMF mission led by Max Alier that came to conduct the second Post-Program Monitoring, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, Max Alier said that in accordance with the mission’s objectives, the main subjects discussed concern the expectations and forecasts for the macroeconomic situation in 2014 and in the medium term, taking into account the possible internal and external vulnerabilities, the budget outlook for this year, the medium-term budgetary framework and the situation in the financial-baking sector of Moldova.

The current IMF mission will be in Moldova until October 9. The last mission that had been in Chisinau between July 16 and 22 discussed the Post-Program Monitoring and the context of the mandatory quarterly consultations held in accordance with the standard requirements laid down in the IMF statutes for the member states.
