Unaffiliated lawmaker Iurie Leanca is paying a visit to Berlin and Brussels on March 16-19. The former Prime Minister intends to ask delegating European judges to work in Moldova for a period so that they help the Moldovan judges, IPN reports.

“It is a project that I initiated as Premier and on which I will continue to insist until I see it implemented. I think it is a very useful method by which a real reform could be started in the judicial system,” Iurie Leanca writes on his Facebook page.

He said that during his visit he will discuss with the European officials the things that should be done for the current minority government not to deviate from the European course. “The main message I will transmit to the European officials is that Moldova belongs not to a group of politicians who decided to ignore the November 30 pro-European vote, but to the people and the EU’s support is intended for them and should continue,” wrote the MP.

Iurie Leanca also said that he will ask those with whom he will meet to support the country even in the current political context, which is confuse, and to demand instead the reformation of the law enforcement bodies and a fair investigation into the situation at Banca de Economii. This would be a guarantee by which the current power will show that they really want the truth about the developments at this bank during many years to come out.

The visit has also a political dimension. The MP will inform the European officials about the objectives of the new political project that he is building. He will meet with European experts and journalists to exchange opinions with them, including about the way in which the parties are financed in Europe.
