The dissatisfaction reached a critical level. The people protest against the suspension of the European course, ex-Premier Iurie Leanca said in a news conference, noting that the situation is now tenser than ever and the European integration is jeopardized, IPN reports.

Referring to Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici’s report concerning the Government’s activity during the first 100 days of its appointment, Iurie Leanca said it revealed lack of consensus, but the blame for this is borne not by the Premier, but by the two parties that formed a minority coalition. “The report showed that the situation is tragic. No reforms are done in the country. The economy is in decline, while the European course is in danger. On the arm with Voronin, we will never enter the EU,” he stated, adding that none of the reforms expected by the people and Moldova’s partners has been done in the period.

The ex-Premier noted that the people have the right to protest and their protests are justified and should not be politicized as the people are very disappointed with the suspension of the European course. The investigation into the stealing committed at Banca de Economii was stopped. The company Kroll presented its report to the authorities two months ago, but the second stage of the inquiry hasn’t been yet launched. This stage is the most important one for identifying the authors of the illegal schemes used to steal the money.

In conclusion, Iurie Leanca said an immediate plan of action is needed to remedy the situation in the banking sector. The pro-European alliance must be urgently restored, based on the November 30 vote, which should focus on concrete reforms and actions in different areas.
