Italy commits itself to support Moldova during 2024-2026 with €40 million. The money will be directed to agriculture, healthcare and energy efficiency, said President Maia Sandu, who had a telephone conversation with the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni, IPN reports.
“Our goal is to create better living conditions at home so that the Moldovans do not have to leave and those from the diaspora want to return. Italy is a reliable partner in this modernization process, which committed itself to support us between 2024 and 2026 with €40 million for agriculture, healthcare and energy efficiency,” stated Maia Sandu.
The Moldovan official noted that the ties between Moldova and Italy are strong, especially due to the large community of Moldovans in Italy, which contributes to the economies of both countries. “Italy firmly supports us on our European path, and the Moldovans in Italy know well what it means to be part of this family of peace and prosperity. All the Moldovans deserve to be part of the European Union,” said the head of state.
